A Peek into Data Centre World 2022

Data Centre World once again invites innovators, engineers, technologists and business leaders to network. Technivo will be there: what are we looking out for?

The data centre industry is in a period of rapid change and growth. There is optimism and investment, and after the challenges of COVID it feels as though there is movement in the sector once more. So it goes that positivity and confidence abound at London’s most important data centre industry event, Data Centre World – and you can’t fail to be impressed by the calibre of attendees and speakers each time. This year, there is another great line-up of speakers.

The opening address is being given by the towering figure of Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the highly respected British computer scientist and the inventor of the World Wide Web, who will be speaking honestly about the opportunities and the shortcomings of the Web today. Sir Tim doesn’t shy away from difficult subjects like security, the sovereignty of users’ data, and the challenges presented by the Internet of Things (IOT). His insights are always worth listening to – after all, who knows more about the subject! His enthusiasm is infectious, and he has some answers on how data can be better used, not only as a force for greater good, but in a much smarter and more powerful way to improve life for all.

Also speaking at the event is Sana Kharagani, the head of the UK Government’s Office for AI, who’ll talk about the National AI Strategy published last September. Sana will outline how the Government plans to keep Britain centre stage globally, how the strategy will incorporate regional investment, and how the proposal of AI is set to inject much needed innovation and funding to the economy. It is a plan widely welcomed by heads of business and industry, especially our own. Forms of AI are being used in monitoring and operations throughout our industry, from engineering and construction, to ventilation, cooling and even Technivo’s area of expertise: technical cleaning of critical IT environments across the UK and Europe.

Other speakers will give insight into subjects such as the overarching trends in tech strategy and the ways in which education can be enhanced and supplemented for the upcoming generation, so that the young can fully benefit from tech advances and the jobs subsequently created. Other speakers will address crucial themes such as the globe’s constant and often dramatic geopolitical movements, advances made in data security, and the now perennial concerns over energy use and conservation and sustainability goals we should all be working towards together.

All in, the Data Centre World team always puts together a great event. Our own managing director Nick Powis will be attending to glean industry news, and to catch up with both new and familiar faces.
